2012 UPDATE!    • Looking For Looking For Freedom

Checkpoint Charlie Museum, Berlin.
17.03.09, 9:01am.

In an interview with German Magazine TV Spielfilm in 2004 David Hasselhoff said:

"I find it a bit sad that there is no photo of me hanging on the walls in the Museum at Checkpoint Charlie".

Finally the injustice is over.

Picture text reads:

Visiting Berlin, "Baywatch" hunk David Hasselhoff chiseled chunks from the Berlin Wall as souvenirs. David laughed, "What I save on my credit card I'll spend on excess airline baggage charges!"

Plaque text reads:

"I went back into East Berlin and gave each girl a copy of the Looking For Freedom album, with the comment 'Here is a little taste of freedom.' They were so overwhelmed that they cried... One of the East German soldiers glared at us, so I gave him a V-sign... We recreated the Wall out of painted Styrofoam blocks and I drove a Trans Am named 'Freedom' straight through it. The crowd went wild... Maybe Looking For Freedom did have some influence on the Wall coming down."

Excerpts from David Hasselhoff's Autobiography Making Waves (2006)
