2nd Workshop on Long-term Human Motion Prediction (LHMP)
Part 1: Introduction by Andrey Rudenko (Bosch Corporate Research / Örebro University)
Seeing beyond instantaneous sensor readings and anticipating future events is an important capability for advanced intelligent systems, which is becoming increasingly more present in practice in the recent years. The topic of human motion and action prediction is studied across several scientific communities with a growing spectrum of applications in service robots, self-driving cars, collaborative manipulators or tracking and surveillance. Accurate long-term predictions of human movement trajectories, body poses, actions or activities may significantly improve the ability of autonomous systems to plan ahead, anticipate the effects of their actions or to foresee hazardous situations.
