As Shishir Ritu (Winter – January to March) transitions into Vasant Ritu (Spring – March to May), the air begins to heat up. Konkan is known for its extreme heat and humid climate, draining the energy of every individual. It is often recommended to consume light, gut-friendly, and energy-rich food to cope with these challenging conditions.

This is where our thoughtfully planned traditions come into play, offering rituals and practices designed to ease human life. Shirvoyo, with its cooling effect, high nutritional value, and easy digestion, becomes the perfect food to celebrate the festival of Shigmo. The widely followed practice of eating Shirvoyo on Giroba day is a testament to the logical and nature-connected traditions of Konkan, always enhancing human life.

Here we present Mini Episode 1 of our Giroba Series, where we share our joyful experience of witnessing and learning the recipe of Shirvoyo on Giroba Day.
