Ever wondered what it feels like to be a tiger?
Wǔ Qín Xì, or the Five Animals’ Play, is a series of Qì Gōng exercises, designed to strengthen the body and preserve health, mimicking the movement of five animals: tiger, deer, bear, monkey and bird. The Tiger Play is all about tapping into that fierce tiger energy to strengthen your liver and fill you with courage.
Tiger Play has two forms: one as steady as a mountain, the other as swift as a storm. In the "Tiger Lifting," you press your palms down, fingers spread wide like tiger claws. Slowly raise your hands above your head, then bring them down to your chest, transforming fists into calm, powerful palms.
But in the "Tiger Pouncing," you’ll feel the true might of the tiger. With hands raised, body leaning forward, and fingers poised as claws, you spring forward, just like a tiger catching its prey. Then, draw back, ready to strike again. Remember: keep your gaze sharp and your "claws" tense to make every pounce full of power.
