The Quiet Things… - Brand New (drum cover remake)
The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows is the full name of the song by the band Brand New.
Back when @totallychristina3275 did live shows along side Joe on her channel, she featured my cover of this song from 2019. Other musicians like @RawHeightsBeats were on there too playing in the background. That certainly gave my channel a boost back then! Sadly she had to delete all the videos on her channel just before getting to the 1K subscriber mark. So many people with great content on their channels are sometimes forced to quit for various reasons.
So 5 years later I decided to do a remake of the song with the gear I have now. This goes out to all of the great people I’ve met on YouTube and have supported my channel for over 8 years!
“Brand New” was an alt/punk band from Long Island, New York that started in 2000 and disbanded in 2018. This song is from 2003 and made the top 40 on the UK Singles Charts that same year and received regular play on MTV2 and FuseTV in the USA through to 2007. Drummer Brian Lane laid down this awesome beat on the original track. Which he played many of the pre chorus and chorus parts on the crash/ride cymbal, whereas I stayed on the hihats throughout. Singer/songwriter Jesse Lacey said this song is about regrets and the things you should have said.
