Coincidentally, when I posted the original cover almost 7 years ago, it was the video that @KMKanDrum first commented on and subscribed. This theme week seemed like a good time for a remake.
The song is from the Dead Man’s Party album in 1985, and later was on the soundtrack for the Netflix series Stranger Things 2 (2017).
Oingo Boingo (/ˈɔɪŋɡoʊ ˈbɔɪŋɡoʊ/) was an American new wave band formed by songwriter Danny Elfman in 1979. The band emerged from a surrealist musical theatre troupe, The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo, that Elfman had led and written material for in the years previous.
Although MTV in the early days put them mostly in the new wave category , Oingo Boingo was known for their high-energy live concerts and experimental music, which can be described as combining elements of music such as art, punk, ska, rock, pop, jazz, and world, amongst other genres.
