I forgot to mention that in this video I am only talking about Fully Diminished chords. There is also the half-diminished chord A.K.A. the minor 7 flat 5 chord. This chord, in Jazz, only ever functions as a related two chord of a II-7b5 V7 I progression. In Classical music and modern film score style music this can be used as a stand-alone chord which is essentially a passing chord between two consonant chords in the key.
