A video introducing the characters played by the four actors in the film "Love is Light" (directed by Keiichi Kobayashi, scheduled for release on June 17th), starring actor Fuju Kamio and featuring actresses Nanase Nishino, Yuna Taira, and Fumika Baba, was released on May 23rd.
The film is based on the manga of the same name by Aki★Eda, which depicts the first love of a male college student with a unique ability that allows him to see women in love as if they are emitting a glow and sparkling. Kamio plays Saijo, a college student who can see the "light of love." Nishino plays Kitadai, Saijo's childhood friend who has always had a crush on him but is told that he "doesn't shine." Taira plays Shinonome, a literary girl who is out of touch with the world and has never known love. Baba plays Sukunagi, who longs for someone else's boyfriend.
Our eccentric protagonist, Saijo (Kamio), leads a romantically distant student life, enjoying fishing with his childhood friend Kitadai (Nishino). One day, he meets Shinonome (Taira), a literary girl who says she wants to know what love is. He falls in love at first sight and begins a diary exchange where they discuss the "definition of love." Saijo, who had previously avoided love because of his unique condition that allows him to see women in love as if they are glowing, finally confronts it. Sukugi (Baba), who is always stealing other people's lovers, and Kitadai join the diary exchange, and before they know it, the four of them begin pondering the very essence of love, eventually developing into a strange love square...
