In today's video we going to show you how we made the ULTIMATE bit holder out of aluminum! I started with an 8"x 8" square of 6061 aluminum that's 3/4" thick.

The first tool path was a surfacing op to flatten the top face which left a perfectly smooth surface. Next I installed an 1/4" O flute bit and it's job was to run a clearing tool path for a pocket design on the face. This will be cleaned up later using an 1/8" 3 flute end mill. After the roughing pass was done I used the same O flute bit to cut a profile op which cut the holders shape out of the aluminum slab.

Next I installed that 1/8" 3 flute end mill I spoke about earlier for a peck drilling op and to clean up the pocket on the face. The last holes to drill were accomplished using an 1/4" 3 flute end mill, again utilizing a peck drilling op.

Final task was to install a 30 degree V-bit to carve the Bits & Bits logo on the face and the holder is done!
