The gravitational feild strength is denoted by g and is some times know as gravitational acceleration.
This is the acceleration with which the planets attract objects toward it's center.
the gravitational force is the force with which the two mass attract each other. This gravitational force is different on different planets and sattelites. the greater the masses the grater will be the force of attractions and the greater will be the gravitational acceleration.
The mass of the mars is lesser than that of the mass of the earth that's why the gravitational field strength g on the surface of mars is lesser than that of Earth
For calculating the gravitational field strength we will need mass of mars, radius of mars and universal gravitational constant G value.
By substituting these values in the equation of newton law of gravitation we will easily get the value of gravitational field strength on the surface of mars.
Using this simple method of calculation we can calculate the gravitational field strength on all the planets, moons, stars and black hole.
