an object of 1000 g (grams) falls from a height of 30 m on the sand below. it penetrates 4 cm into the sand. what opposing force is exerted on it by the sand, neglect air friction.
we have solved this numerical using work energy relation. work done is equal to change in kinetic energy. first calculate the potential energy at certain height then we know when object falls just before hitting the sand all of its p.e energy is converted in kinetic energy. now w = k.e ,
now you can use the equation of work done w = force times displacement substituting the values of work done and displacement as o.o4 m and solving for force we will get the answer to the numerical.
video inclues three parts first p.e then work done. and the solving for force.
