Imagine traveling through a dense forest, with many small and beautiful rivers crossing your way while your train honks at intervals; surely surreal. Dooars provides just that!
The single un-electrified line from Siliguri Junction to Alipurduar Junction takes you through the heart of Dooars; the famous forest region of North Bengal. A 156 km ride takes you through four Wildlife Sanctuaries; Gulma, Mahananda, Jaldapara and a large part of the Buxa Tiger Reserve. Along with these are numerous beautiful rivers like Diana, Jaldhaka, Kaljani, Leesh, Gheesh, Neora apart from the more famous Teesta and Torsha!
Watch the grey cloud formations kiss the vast landscape with the horizons bordered by the mighty Himalayas that often come close giving you a closer view.
Adding to all these are lush green tea gardens that are in full bloom with pickings going on at full flow!
