Abstract painter Mia Guile uses oil on large canvases to help her represent what lies in the unconscious. Her work explores the relationship between color and form, observing the spontaneity of emotions that appear. It is through the compositions of these elements that Mia’s paintings construct meaning.
Mia’s greatest influences have been artists from the AbEx period (mid 1940’s through the mid 1950’s). From them, she has gained an understanding of remaining fluid in technique and letting barriers of the mind unbecome. Taking directions only from what’s happening within.
