I'm currently working on a project that involves using an authentic NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) RP 2A03 CPU to play video game music.
The project is very much a work-in-progress, but I wanted to show off the first test that brings all the major components together to play music from Super Mario Bros!
This setup uses an ESP32 microcontroller to read VGM (video game music) files off a microSD card, then sends a command stream via I2C to a system I've built up around the 2A03.
I apologize for the horribly messy workbench full of unrelated components.
