Do you really need a lawyer for the K1 Visa??
This video is our honest opinion about using a lawyer for the K1 visa. We have nothing against lawyers but we just feel like it's unnecessary since you can complete the application yourself. All you need is to gather your resources and research online yourself.
One thing that wasn't mentioned on the video were the reasons why one might get a lawyer. If an individual has a criminal history that is much complicated than the norm, then they might want to get the help of a lawyer. Another case that might require a lawyer is if your foreign fiance has over stayed their visa in the US if they've previously visited or if they visited another country.
If your K-1 visa application was denied, it is probably a good idea to get a lawyer involved if you are appealing the decision. Appeals can get complicated and have strict deadlines (30 days).
We believe that the resources are out there to file your K1 visa petition on your own without an attorney. Hope this video helps a little on making a decision on whether you need to hire an attorney for your petition.
