As Prime Crime News Agency has learned, 43-year-old Georgian thief-in-law Georgy Vashakmadze, better known in criminal circles as Giya Samtredsky, was released from Yelets prison today after serving his sentence.

This especially dangerous criminal, who has spent over 23 years in prison for murder, robbery, banditry, attempted murder of a police officer, and twice been sentenced to prison terms as a repeat offender, was detained by Lipetsk operatives, working with colleagues from the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, for being undesirable in the country.

An accomplice of the equally notorious thief-in-law Kakha Chokhataursky, Giya Samtredsky became known to the wider criminal community after, in March 2013, on the personal orders of Merab Sukhumsky, he stabbed Ded Khasan's great-nephew and godson, Georgiy Akoyev, aka Giya Sverdlovsky, in the Murmashinsky maximum security prison. According to Georgians, Sverdlovsky was responsible for the martyrdom of thief-in-law Gocha Kurka in Yelets prison.

For the massacre of Akoyev, which Giya Samtredsky carried out together with the late Otari Krasnodarsky and Zhora Kutaissky, all three were awarded the crown of thieves by the Oniani-Dzhangveladze clan and simultaneously declared outlaws by Ded Khasan's clan.
