Winning the Writing Game with Rachel Donoghue
We've had lots of requests to chat to a debut author to find out what it was that gave them the break - and how they are finding the publishing world. This week Simon will be chatting to Rachel Donohue - The Temple House Vanishing is her first novel, a literary mystery, set in a Catholic boarding school. It was an Irish Times bestseller in 2020 and was nominated for an An Post Irish Book Award in the Sunday Independent Best Newcomer Category.
Rachel studied Philosophy and Politics in University College Dublin, before working in communications. Her short stories have been published in the Irish Independent, Irish Times and RTE.ie, and in 2017 she won the Hennessy "New Irish Writer of the Year" Award.
