Russia Sends 5 Squadron S400 Triumf Air Defense Systems to India Despite Criminal Sanctions.

Though a bloody war is being waged by Russia which has led to crippling sanctions being imposed on its defense industry, the delivery of the third squadron of S400 Triumf air defense systems to India is currently underway.

Russias state news agency revealed this by citing reports in the Indian media. According to the report,Initial deliveries of the third operational squadron of the S400 Triumf surface to air missile systems from Russia have started after some delays.

India is struggling with alternative payment methods for the delivery of new Russian weapons and their maintenance under Western sanctions against Russia, but it is being managed, said one source. India is expected to receive five S400 squadrons before the end of this year.

It was previously reported in December that an Indian team consisting of Indian Air Force personnel was in Russia for equipment and supplies. They are planned to start in early 2023 in the January to February timeframe.

The delivery announcement could be seen as a justification of Russias arms production capacity in the face of Western sanctions and international export controls. Moscows defense industry has successfully manufactured and exported weapons systems and delivered them to its military and foreign customers.

Russia recently delivered its S400 system and nuclear capable Iskander M missiles to its closest Eurasia ally, Belarus. Russian President Vladimir Putin also urged his military defense industrial complex to deliver advanced equipment for use on the battlefield.

As for the S400 air defense system, a US technology company Extreme Networks sold its products to MMZ Avangard, Russias manufacturer of the S400 missile, for four years between 2017 and 2021. The transaction was carried out despite sanctions imposed in the aftermath of Russias invasion of Crimea in 2014 .

The Russian Ministry of Defense has stated that its military industrial complex is up and running despite Ukraines claims that Russia has taken a huge economic hit. Defense manufacturer Uralvagonzavod recently delivered a new batch of upgraded T90M Proryv main battle tanks to the Russian army.

In addition, the Russian Ministry of Defense has plans to increase production of Zircon and Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, induce Borei A class nuclear submarines and 12 surface ships, as well as strengthen the nuclear triad in the ongoing year.
