Russian submarine with the world's most advanced Tsirkon hypersonic missile begins operation
The Project 885M Yazen M nuclear powered submarines will enter service with the Russian Navy in late 2024 or early 2025. Among project 885M nuclear submarines, the fifth Perm submarine will be Zircons first regular ship, which will be structurally slightly different from its predecessor .
A test launch of the Tsirkon missile from a Project 885 Sverodvinsk submarine was carried out in the White Sea on October 4, 2022. The Sevmash shipbuilding section of the United Shipbuilding Corporation is currently building six Project 885M submarines. The main submarines of Project 885 and Project 885M Severodvinsk, Kazan and Novosibirsk are in service with the Russian Navy.
