Script excerpt (For tags):

He's designed to be a fool.

He doesn't like fools.

Wheatley has a huge number of lines for when the player is inactive in various situations. Sometimes it's quite funny. The moment he kills us — Wheatley's lines

If you catch Wheatley in this scene, nothing will happen because it's scripted.

Scientists designed Wheatley to be flooded with stupid ideas. But sometimes stupid ideas work. And Wheatley probably became smarter than his creators intended.

Wheatley is very trusting and quite cowardly. He's afraid of heights, which often manifests itself during the game. He's also very afraid of Glados, and wasn't even aware it was turned off because he was afraid to check.

It was Wheatley who woke Chell from her slumber to escape with her. But she probably wasn't the first.

In the mainframe, he felt a constant itch. Unlike Glados, he couldn't control it, but all the potential test subjects either disappeared or were dead. Out of desperation, he created Frankenturels so they could complete the tests. But the idea proved ineffective.

Wheatley is actually a pretty decent module who values friendship. Under the mainframe's control, he went insane and repeatedly tried to kill Chell. But during the battle, something unusual happens, especially noticeable in the English dub. Wheatley begins speaking hysterically, almost crying. He probably understands that he doesn't want to kill Chell and truly considers her his friend, but he can't help himself, and so he comes up with various excuses to avoid the heavy burden of guilt for her murder.

Wheatley. Designed to be the dumbest module, he turned out to be much smarter than the scientists could have imagined. He created brilliant plans, even if he often made mistakes. No, he's still not a genius; there's a lot he can't do. He's unable to solve the reactor problem in the second half of Portal 2 and simply disables the alarm because he has no idea how to fix it. He lacks the necessary knowledge, after all, he was designed to be the dumbest module. But perhaps his personality allowed him to become a better person. Wheatley is just a module, with a humiliating assignment, always trying to prove he's not a fool. And most of all, to himself.

In one of Wheatley's lines, you can hear the distant laughter of the studio staff.

Valve made a Valentine's Day card from Wheatley.
