How to study at university, advice on the method
A video of the lecture given by Professor Marco Mazzone (Associate Professor of Philosophy of Language in the Department of Humanities) during the meetings titled "Our Tools of the Trade and the Organization of Knowledge," aimed at students enrolled in courses in the Departments of Humanities and Economics and Business.
Professor Mazzone's lectures were included in the busy schedule of the second series of meetings for freshmen in the 2016/17 academic year, titled "Incipit / Learning Better: How to Use the Mind in University Studies," and aimed at offering a general and useful orientation on using the mind in the study of increasingly complex subjects.
During the various meetings, which took place from October 6 to 24, 2016, students were invited to reflect on topics such as motivation, the need for awareness of one's professional and cultural self-development, the importance of planning in studying subjects, the role of memory and attention span, the connection between disciplines in modern knowledge, their rights and duties, the productive use of information technology and new media, as well as theoretical, practical, and methodological guidance related to specific fields of study (humanities, socio-economics, theoretical and applied sciences).
