What is the difference between a shared and dedicated logical core?:
A shared logical core is a logical core that is shared between servers.
Let's say you're running a faction server, while your friend is running a survival server. Both you and your friend are using the same Minecraft hosting plan that uses shared logical cores. Then there is a possibility that you both are using the same resources from one computer. It's like having two Minecraft open on one computer. The computer has to use up resources for both of your servers.
Different types of CPUs that Minecraft server hosts use:
Apex Hosting uses the Ryzen 9 5900X CPU
Pebble Host uses the Ryzen 7 5800X
If you go to this website https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare... you can compare the CPUs to see what has better performance.
Some server hosts will tell you that they have enterprise hardware, but won't say what tech they use to run their servers.
What location should you choose to run your Minecraft server?:
Each Minecraft server host at least recommends a few locations to run your Minecraft server. Usually, you would need to choose the location that's the lowest ping. The lower the ping, the better the connection. Sometimes that's not always going to be the best option. If your players live farther away from where you choose to host your server, they will have difficulty staying connected to the server.
What Minecraft host do I recommend using:
I recommend choosing Bloom Host as a Minecraft server provider.
They make it clear if their server resources are being charged between servers or just being used by you.
Their Performance+ Plans use the highest Ryzen CPUs.
Instead of just saying what tech they use to store data, they also tell you how much data the tech uses for their servers.
Lastly, you even have the option to choose to split the resources of your server to have more servers from one plan.
