DESERT - New "Operation:Thunderbolt" video // Crowdfunding Campaign
We are DESERT – veterans of the heavy metal scene and one of the most established bands from Israel.
We want to shoot a huge professional video based on the track “Operation: Thunderbolt”, in support of the latest album. The song is dedicated to one of the most ambitious and successful operations in the world history by Israeli Special Force unit “Sayeret Matkal”. Pro-Palestinian terrorists captured an Air France plane on 27.06.1976, with 260 passengers and held them a week at the Entebbe International airport, Uganda. Operation Thunderbolt took place on 04.07.1976 when 100-strong Israeli commando force flew over 4000 km with 4 transport planes to Entebbe; where all terrorists were overtaken with almost no losses among hostages and Israeli soldiers. In memory of this outstanding operation, we decided to make a video that could bring the viewers to its atmosphere and experience in the most intimate and unique way. As officers and soldiers of IDF ourselves, we dedicated a big part of our lives to serving and defending Israel, it is very important to us to commemorate the legacy and spread the story around the world.
As usual, we prepared unique perks that include special merchandise - the special “Operation: Thunderbolt” T-shirt designed by Jobert Mello (Sabaton, Grave Digger, Primal Fear), CDs and a lot of over stuff, some items are very unique and will be available during this campaign only.
