This is a visual how-to care guide for flannel fabric. This video highlights how to take proper care of flannel clothing and garments in your closet.
Basic characteristics of flannel -
Not a fabric but a structure of fabric
Made from cotton or wool
Durable
Absorbs & releases perspiration quickly
Soft
Thicker and more insulated
Care Instructions -
Washing instructions - Cotton flannel is machine washable in warm water. Wool flannel should be dry cleaned in most cases although some washable wools exist.
Drying instructions - Cotton flannel & wool flannel should be hanged to dry or machine dried on low.
Ironing instructions - For cotton flannel iron on high temperature. For wool flannel use low temperature and steam (turn inside out to avoid iron marks and shine).
While taking care of flannel fabric it is important to note -
Wool flannel does not need wash after every wear
Do not over dry (if using dryer)
Empty lint trap in the dryer after each load
Note - As best practice, always follow the garment’s care label for exact instructions. If there isn’t one, just follow this guide & it will help your flannel fabric last longer.
