Toolbox k1llers Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris k1lled five teenage girls in just five months — and recorded some of their horrific t0rture and mvrder sessions for their own amusement.
The depraved duo became known as the “Toolbox k1llers.” Using devices for t0rturing their victims more commonly found in the garage, Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris were a s4distically brutal pair of serial r4pists and k1llers stlking teenage girls across the Los Angeles area for five dark months in 1979.
From their van, they picked up hitchhikers, driving them to secluded spots where they could indulge in their most grvuesome r4pe and torture fantasies.
Their crimes, particularly the Halloween t0rture and mvrder of Shirley Ledford, would cause FBI profiler John E. Douglas to classify Bittaker as “the most disturbing individual for whom he has ever created a criminal profile.”
They met each other in prison. Fantasizing about s3xually 4ssaulting and mvrdering teenage girls, both men pledged that they would reunite once released, and planned to mvrder one girl of each teenage year, 13 through 19.
Bittaker was released in November 1978, and Norris followed on January 1979. Within a month, Norris had r4ped a woman. Then, as promised, Norris received a letter from Bittaker, and the pair met and began to put their twisted prison plan into action.
