How can something as explosive as C-4 be so safe that you can cut it without it blowing up? Well, it’s all about how it’s designed. C-4 contains a powerful explosive called RDX, but it’s combined with softening agents like plasticizers that make it soft, flexible, and safe to handle. This design prevents it from detonating even if you drop something heavy on it, light it on fire, stomp on it, or shoot it. But when a detonator sends a high-energy shockwave through it, it triggers a reaction that unleashes its explosive power.
