DIY Air traffic Control via ADS-B with Cheap USB SDR- Tutorial Part 2
Part 2 of my Comet discone antenna being used for DIY air traffic control via the aircraft ADS-B transponders. With this antenna I am getting about 150 km radius consistently with 200+ km in certain directions. Not too shabby for a $10 USB device and a scanner antenna. Antenna is actually located inside my attic so definitely not ideal. Next I will try a DIY co-linear version (I hope).
All software is freeware and this video will hopefully guide you through setup/configuration of ADSBScope and ADSBSharp,
Amazing what we can do with the cheap USB sticks.
