The maiden of the Versa Wing didn't go very well due to CG issue but the maiden of the Hobbyking EPP FPV went much better. The GPS & autopilot systems were online without issue. I was quite happy with the test results.
The EPP FPV resulted in a hard landing but some hot glue and correction to the elevator throw and it flew pretty well. The Cyclops Tornado OSD/autopilot inadvertently enabled RTH (fence mode) which was a bit confusing but all in all, it was a successful flight test. After this flight I updated the autopilot firmware and all was well again. Love this hardware :)
The other FT Versa wing in the chase video belongs to MrZeeGerman. It fly's amazing. Check out his channel for more coverage.
The powered glider I am flying is the Freeman 1600 which works fantastic as an FPV bird. No stabilization required for any skill level pilot- she is rock solid. The polyhedral wings make it one of the most stable aircraft I have ever flown. Its a rock star.
I'll look at adding an APM autopilot someday as this bird could loiter forever and capture some amazing aerial footage. It is super light and flies for ages on a 2200 mAh 3S.
