The Quran Aligns with Modern Science | 30 Reasons to be a Muslim | Ramadan 2023 | Dr. Shabir Ally
Reason #8: The Quran Aligns with Modern Science.
Dr. Shabir Ally says people find major discrepancies between what their religious scriptures teach and what modern science discovers. Though he cautions that the Quran isn't a science book, it is interesting to see that the Quran avoids the major scientific blunders that are found in other scriptures. For example, some people have computed the age of the earth based on their scriptures and they found that it must be less than 10,000 years old. But we know now that the earth is billions of years old. The Quran could easily have copied that error from the previous scriptures, but it doesn't. Moreover, the Quran uses language that is in harmony with modern science, referring to the universe expanding and the development of the embryo. This reassures Muslims that it is a revelation from the almighty God and inspires Muslims to do more science knowing that it goes hand in hand with their scripture.
