Dr. Shabir Ally says that people sometimes find their faith too complicated to understand. But for Muslims, Islam is simple and easy for anyone to understand. The Muslim understanding is that there is only one God. There is a clear distinction between God and God’s creation. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, is not confused with God. And the scripture from God is not confused with any other writing. While the basic concepts of Islam are easy to grasp, he says it’s not a simplistic faith that philosophers can dismiss out of hand.
