A sneak peek at what we will be able to do with VoxCommando version 2. Nothing new here except that we are using a cheap Bluetooth headset and getting pretty decent recognition results. That is because we are using the Microsoft Server Speech Platform. This speech engine also supports more languages and TTS voices which can be downloaded for free. The engine does not require or allow training, and does not allow free speech dictation. VoxCommando version 2 will work with either the old engine or the new one (but not both at once).

In this teaser demo I perform a variety of commands for controlling my lights, talking to the computer, listening to music with MediaMonkey and browsing my video library on XBMC 12.2 (and before you ask, the beautiful skin I am using is Aeon MQ5).

The TTS is a free voice provided by Microsoft. She doesn't sound much like a "Jarvis" though does she? — Microsoft Server Speech Text to Speech Voice (en-GB, Hazel)

Software: VoxCommando Version 2 (alpha - not released yet), XBMC, MediaMonkey

Hardware: PC running Windows 7, Motorola HK250 headset, Onkyo network receiver, Vera Lite (for controlling ZWave lights), iTach wifi2IR (for infrared control of TV and fan).

By the way I am only using the tablet to shoot video. I am not running VoxWav on it or anything like that. VC is only listening to the Bluetooth.
