During our recent trip to Wilmington, NC, we had the chance to catch up with our friends Riley and Trey Alber, who are leading a remarkable sustainability initiative. They recognized a huge gap in the local waste management system—up to 70% of landfill waste is compostable—and decided to make a difference by creating a simple, accessible composting system for the community.
We spent an inspiring day with them, learning about their efforts to reduce waste, improve soil health, and support a healthier ecosystem. It was incredible to see how they’ve turned their vision into reality, making a lasting impact on the environment. We wrapped up the day with a few beers by the fire, celebrating their success and the greener future they’re helping to build.
