DICK CHAP - Afterglow (Genesis) - 2017-05-30
On 31.03.2017 I was with the family in Cologne, there a concert took place which I wanted to listen and see. Cologne I know from old times, since I had there often music with different bands. So it was nothing special until we crossed the Rhine over the railway bridge at Cologne. The daughter was fascinated by the thousands of colorful castles hanging over a huge length. I also looked at the castles and thought that there were no castles in my time in 1982, but I had often stood on the bridge when I visited my then girlfriend in Cologne. When I played in the area around Cologne in the nineties, I had often stopped near the bridge on the way back to see the Rhine. When I thought about it I heard the Genesis title "Afterglow" and he did not stop sounding in the head. The title I had heard from 1976 to 1977 very often when driving. Somehow I was at the same time in the past and present. When I left for the concert in the Stollwerkhalle, the melody in the back of my head sounded as I sat down in front of the hall on a bench and saw the families sitting there on the meadow playing with their children. After the concert it was dark and a slight drizzle came from above but it was still warm and the city lights shone on the streets I went back and the whole time sounded "afterglow" in the head.
