Twitty won many awards for singing duets with Loretta Lynn from 1971 to 1976. He was honoured by being put into the Country Music and Rockabilly Halls of Fame. Twitty's songs often focused on love and emotion. Twitty topped the country music charts 40 times in his career and wrote 11 of his own chart-topping hits.
