Part 4: What to do when you're asked to speak last minute
If you will hold a Q&A segment during your presentation, it’s definitely important that you prepare as much as you can for it. Brainstorm questions that you think there’s a good chance the audience will have, and practice answering them concisely. It’s good to also run your presentation by a friend or family member, and find out what questions they come up with. You might be surprised!
You also need to think about the structure of the segment. Are you going to take a certain number of questions OR allot a particular amount of time before you end it? Let the audience know how you will proceed before you start taking their questions.
NEVER lie if you don’t know an answer. Simply say you’ll look into it, and get their contact info so you can indeed follow up within a specific timeframe.
