Alexander Alexandrovich Gostev, born July 15, 1989, 383rd Division (the so-called "Shakhtyorskaya"). Signed a contract in 2015.
"I worked on a construction site. And then there was no work, nothing! We were promised that units would be paid $360. But we came to the Mining Division and they paid us nothing."
"When Putin announced the invasion, a platoon commander came to us and told us to pack up and go to Volnovakha. They killed a lot of people there. Sparta was already there, the 100th Brigade."
Then they were transferred to Maryinka.
"They transported us in light armored vehicles. They routed our forces, destroyed all the equipment, the guys died, our tanks crushed a lot of our own."
He explains the huge friendly losses since the beginning of the invasion this way:
"And we hadn't been trained at all!" We had a training ground once a year, once every two years. For reporting purposes, we'd go to the Ilovaisk training ground and fire 23 rounds."
On January 2, 2015, they covered Sparta during the assault on the new DAP terminal. He talks a lot about the difficulties of life in the Donbas and the attitude toward the authorities.
"Both Zakharchenko and Pushilin deceived the people. They just rowed in their own direction. They drove around in their jeeps..."
He particularly emphasizes the role of Russian propaganda.
"They told us they'd skin us alive in captivity; they intimidated us with all their might!"
About the officers:
"They simply sent us to the slaughter!"
And about the war:
"Nobody knew it would happen like this. We thought Crimea would eventually be recaptured without a war!"
