John Seaberg isn't on Facebook, but I mentioned in my last upload of "Spooky" performed by Oreo Blue Friday night that you should check out Seaberg's bass line during that song. It's never played the same way twice, but his note and run choices are fascinating to me. Of course, I've concentrated on bass players my whole 40+ year drumming career by necessity. Played with some of the best in every region I've lived. Seaberg has a reputation that preceeds him and part of the concern with that is living up to it. John definitely lives up to it. None of us regional musicians are perfect, but some just "have it". That moxie or musical swagger... I don't really know, but it sure feels good when it's a pallette with which to drum upon.
Here's John Seaberg isolated bass on that track. Obviously not the "written part" which were pretty groovy bass lines in the Classics IV version and the Atlanta Rhythm Section version...
isolated drums to mark it. (the high hat and overhead mics didn't get turned on until the song right after this one apparently, so it's a little more dry than could be)
