Ok, so as you create digital art on an iPad, you may have encountered two problems.
• Firstly, the iPad screen is a magnet for smudges and fingerprints from the natural oils in your skin. Granted, you can get screen protectors that solve this problem, but that is only half the battle.
• Second, most of the drawing applications on the iPad are terrible with palm rejection. Every time you try and draw on the top of the screen, the heel of your hand can rest on the screen and the software can detect this as a stroke and randomly draws lines. Not what you want, right?
That is where a 'Drawing Glove' comes in. A drawing glove is a sock for your hand. It creates a barrier between your skin and the screen. Solving both problems at once.
The particular version I use is a cheap 'Parblo - Pr-01 teo finger glove. I got this from amazon about a year ago and as you can see I use it nearly every day!.
The glove is made from a 'high elastic lycra fibre, which features great breathability, which is a must to preventing sweaty palms during a long drawing session. It can be worn either left or right handed and conforms to the shape of your hand.
Another benefit of using the glove is that it Reduce the friction between your hand and the tablet surface, providing you with a comfortable feeling when drawing on an iPad. Or indeed on a Graphics Monitor/ Tablet/ Light Box/ Tracing Light Pad etc.
The glove comes in a single size, but due to its stretchy-ness it will fits just about everybody. As you can see the pinky finger is spot on, whilst the ring finger is just a tad too long. I have not found this to be a problem as you will tend to curl your fingers as you draw anyways.
So, if you are tired of having fingerprints on your screen, or your software is picking up your wrist as strokes. Then I would highly recommend getting a drawing glove.
