Overview of the first production of our 44th Season (2017-2018)
September 15, 16, 17, 22 & 23, 2017
The inhabitants of one of the smallest trailer parks in Texas are thrown for a loop when the nearby town is determined to annex them. It’s not like they don’t have enough to deal with: Joveeta has been passed over for a promotion, is in an ongoing battle to keep her feisty mother out of the local bar, and worries her good-ol’-boy brother is taking his participation in a womanless beauty pageant way too seriously. Georgia is struggling to keep her diner and finances afloat, but can’t curb her impulse to take in every stray cat, possum, and armadillo that wanders by. Ethel, who’s nobody’s fool, is continually frustrated by her clients at Stairway To Heaven Retirement Village and her mule-headed husband who shows far more affection for his BarcaLounger than for her. The residents are plagued by the curmudgeon across the road, who loathes their “trailer-trash” ways. They’ll all have to work together to survive being swallowed up by “the big guys.”
