Hello!
So, I'm officially moving to Boston soon and I've been thinking a lot about how much I've grown and learned while here in the DC-metro area over the last two years: the music scene, touring and writing and recording. It's been eye-opening and irreplaceable. I love this town and the people I've come to rely on here, especially my family. Without getting overly sappy, I've just had the DC-Virginia area on my mind lately and this song was the result. It's called 'From You' and I hope you like it.
As always, all your sharing and liking and subscribing means the world to me, and every bit helps. Thank you always for listening.
Cheers,
d.
PS - The video was shot in the attic of the house I've grown up in.

LYRICS:
'From You'
DC's sleeping under the night sky
It's been two years, but I guess that's now it's time
To weigh the pros and cons of settlin' in
And feel the months combine as they approach
Love is nothing but a shadow game
For a young kid just starting off
But he is only as good as the love he gives
Just as strong as hearts he broke
Long after you're gone, my innocence
I'll learn from you
Dogwoods bloom, seasons change
Fresh cut grass, that smell of youth
These many years and moments that I've taken much for granted
Oh, I'm waiting for this peace to be my proof
Though this world will greet me readily
I'm all from you
That old place, that quiet home
Dark as space when sun goes down
But love, it fills these walls
Fills them to the brim
And nonetheless this place will come around
When I call your name, so helpless
I'll get strength from you
