Unveiling the Vulnerability of Love is Blind
We love to watch Love is Blind. We learn so much from these brave (maybe foolish?) contestants putting their lives out there for the whole world to see it.
I noticed in a recent episode that the contestants were feeling so much insecurity in the strength of their relationship, which made me think about the reality of the need for security in intimate relationships. This isn't the cherry on top of relationships, it's the whole substance of healthy relationships.
Secure relationships require so much attunement, intimate and vulnerable conversations, and a level of honesty that a lot of folks don't have access to.
If you're struggling from a lack of security in your relationship know this is not too high of an ask. It is a basic, fundamental need of secure relationships. Without it your survival system is going to be triggered.
You're not alone, you're not crazy and you're not priviledged to believe you deserve consistent security and safety in your relationship.
