The Institute for International Economic Policy was pleased to host the 16th Annual Conference on China’s Economic Development and U.S.-China Economic Relations which took place Friday, April 26th, 2024 at the Elliott School of International Affairs. This conference was co-sponsored by the Sigur Center for Asian Studies and the GW Center for International Business Education and Research (GW-CIBER).
Sonali Jain-Chandra, Division Chief and Mission Chief for China at the International Monetary Fund’s Asia and Pacific Department, delivered the conference's keynote address and shared insights on growing financial sector pressures, local government debt, and the housing market in China.
