I've been binging the newest Tycho record Infinite Health these last couple weeks, and thought I'd try and recreate some Tycho inspired guitar tones with a couple new pedals I just got into the studio.

Today we're chatting Tycho guitar tone and stripping it down to just TWO pedals - the Templo Devices Reel Dealuxe and the new Strymon Big Sky MX.
The Reel Dealuxe is a concise journey through the grit, texture and warble of a reel to reel machine and does a nice job giving you exactly what you'd need to add that compressed, warm texture to your guitar tone without a bunch of knobs or menus. The vibrato side is equally straightforward and excels at the simple subtle tape-like vibrato - the sounds you miss when they're gone.
I promise you this is only the beginning of the Big Sky MX exploration, but I couldn't help but toss some Plate reverb, billowy Cloud decay, and Magneto bounce to the track. Check it out!
