STP - 27AE1 Mission (LV0018)
ASE is targeting Monday, March 6th for the launch of the USSF’s STP-27AE1 mission along with a co-passenger, AmberIon-1 from SLC - 3A to Low Earth Orbit. The vehicle will be targeting a 40x50 kilometer orbit. STP - 27AE1 is an instrumented (solar panels, antennas, etc.) mass-simulator testbed satellite for future national security satellites. AmberIon-1 is a satellite created by ASE’s subsidiary company, Axis Space Systems and Amber Space designed to test the Infinity Spacecraft Engine at a smaller scale.
The booster supporting this mission is the brand-new B5102 and will attempt an return-to-launch site landing back at LZ-1.
