In this video, I talk about the General Electric CG400 and Sony DCR-TRV103 camcorders, both of which are unique in their own ways.
I assume it's obvious that I favored the Sony DCR-TRV103, since much of the video is about it. It did have some really nice features that many cameras simply don't come with.
Both of these cameras are Hi-8 camcorders, meaning they use the same 8mm cassette tapes as a recording medium. The difference is that the GE camcorder records analog video to the tape, whereas the Sony records digital video.

This video makes references to another video I uploaded in 2019 about another Hi-8 camera I have, the Sony DCR-TRV308. You can watch that video here:    • A Look At The Sony CCD-TRV308 Camcorder   (be warned, it's an older video of mine).

This is going to be a multi-part series because I had more video of me trying to stream the footage I recorded through the camera's firewire port, and the video was long enough as it was. Essentially, it was problematic; which is why I had to capture my footage through the camera's analog outputs.
