This video is a celebration of Japanese video games from the late 90s. Those video games contained incredible visuals that have left a lasting impression among many of us who grew up with them. Please enjoy the creativity that came out of Japan at this time, an era of visual development that will always be fondly remembered.
The title of the video is 'inicio' which is Spanish for start or begin. In my approximation, the start of anything also necessarily includes the end or resolution of something prior to the point at which something new begins. This video is all about this binary relation. The beginning of the video is composed of footage of the above video games concluding. Conversely the end of the video includes the beginnings of those very same video games. Essentially the message is everyone wants to start or begin something new in their lives whether it be a new job, new hobby, learn something new, meet someone new. However it may be instructive to remember that to begin something new one must also end something else that eats up the same time or energy.
Creativity itself is all about endings in this same vein. In order to learn a new technique or push your own work into new territory you need to end and remove some obstacle that is holding you from reaching the desired result.
This video required me to push my patience, skills, and knowledge to make it. I had to end my own insecurities and doubts to create it. The end result was the start of a new direction and chapter in the creation of my videos.
