Blacc Study Group with Tinashe
Blacc Study group is an initiative I started before Covid 19. Members of Blacc who work in the wine industry and are interested in taking an advance wine exam join the study group simply to learn more about wine. After meeting for a few weeks we finished the entire WSET Level 2 study guide. I thought it would be a creative way to learn by talking to actual professionals in the wine and spirits business so I invited winemakers, sommeliers and vineyard managers to host Master Classes. We meet each week online Tuesday and Thursday for this master class.
This week we invited Tinashe Nyamudoka to host our Master Class. Tinashe is a world famous Sommlier. He manages the beverage program at the number 1 resturant in Africa. He is know for building award wining wine list . Tinashe is also a wine brand owner. His brand Kumusha produces (and sells out) about 6,000 bottles a year. A jack of all trade, Tinashe’s resume also includes wine judging, cellar management and he was a member of the very first all Zimbabwean team to competes in the World Blind Wine Tasting championship
In this conversation Tinashe gives insider tips and shares his experience working in 5 Star restaurants. He gives us tips on deductive tasting. Overall his master class was thoughtful, engaging and inspiring.
