Hinse Mutter - What's in a name?

Cello: Jascha Bordon

All the material in What’s in a name? is derived from the intervals that stem from Johann Sebastian Bach's name: B-A-C-H, and from the name Maksim Velichkin, for whom this piece was written. Maksim’s letters are placed in the score above the corresponding notes, and the BACH parts are bracketed. Sometimes they overlap.

What's in a name? was selected by the Vox Novus "15 Minutes of Fame competition" and first performed in Glendale, USA in September 2014. This recording you're watching was made at the 'From Behind the Score' concert at Codarts University for the Arts in Rotterdam on the 10th of December 2014.
