Banff Campgrounds near LAKE LOUISE & JOHNSTON CANYON: Protection Mountain & Castle Mountain
One of our favourite activities at Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies Mountains is camping.
It is so relaxing to wake up in the middle of the forest, surrounded by trees and nature. and this park has plenty of camping options. In this video, we will show you 2 Frontcountry options.
Frontcountry campsites are accessible by car. Most often, you drive right to your site and can set up camp right beside your car.
Along the Bow Valley Parkway scenic drive, you’ll find the Protection Mountain Campground nestled in the trees. and the Castle Mountain Campground, perfect for stargazers. Those campgrounds are located near Johnston Canyon and Lake Louise. Those are great temporary homes base to spend a couple days day-hiking and sightseeing. Reservations are available on Parks Canada’s website for May 25 to September 24.
