Goat Creek is a broad short fire path or double-track path that consists of dirt and rock. It has incredible views of the surrounding mountains along a picturesque route. There are a series of sustained low-angle descents along this path with several wide bridge crossings. Goat Creek hugs the Rundle Mountain Range and crosses a pine forest from Banff to Spray Lakes Loop.

You can do this round trip or only one way leaving from Canmore to Banff (this is the easiest route) and from Banff to Canmore (most difficult route). If you leave Banff you can leave the car in a parking lot after passing the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, the name of the area is Spray River West and it is free.

From Canmore, drive south (uphill) on Spray Lakes Road, keep in mind that Spray Lakes Road becomes Smith Dorrien Road, for about 9 miles. Go through Whiteman's Pond and stop in the parking lot on your right (west); A map sign is in the parking lot. The beginning of the path is well signposted.
